As I didn't have a good idea of what to design, I planned to visit some exhibitions during the week. The first exhibition I visited was a solo exhibition of Peter Howson's work, which had a lot to do with religion, war and the new epidemic. I was impressed by one of the paintings about war. At first glance it looks like a painting of forest and village life, but the man hanging from the tree is a sign of some unrest. The ignorance of the dangling man by the farmers working in the farmland also adds to the eerie atmosphere. The artist seems to be trying to convey the brutality of war through the numbness of people to death. Instead of showing the battlefield directly, the artist criticises the human toll of war from the side. This kind of thinking perspective is something I can learn from.
